Due to there not being an F8 boot command screen any more I had to go into msconfig to change how the computer starts up.. Like three other posters (Lee, TGOL and Brian) I tried this little trick but it wonâ€™t let me log on to the computer. Click View. The only issue I have is that now instead of going into Safe Mode it continually reboots system trying to boot into XP normally.
If you can't, you'll need to start Safe Mode normally. I'm also hoping once that's done that if I use the Dell DataSafe Local Backup that it will be just as good as if I had the install disk when I Would you know what to do? Once again Thank You!

Contacted DELL tech support and because they do not guarantee the softwareâ€™s they want to charge 100$ so they can asst by phone on how to fix the os. my daugter has forgotten her password for admin. I did so manually. Now simply reboot and this time do not hit any keys.
