Cannot Rename Folders Windows Xp


I get error: "The file or folder does not exist."Also, five days ago I lost my links in Navigation Pane... Again locally is fine just over the network is an issue. The rename worked fine and all of a sudden quit. I installed a Flash Renamer and with it I can rename but this is not a solution... navigate here

If you close or kill the program that has the handle on the file, you can then modify. I dont want to clean install XP, especially after I found that site telling me what I could do to fix it. by then it will be compatible ebough to THINK about using it...   i have 4 computers at home, and 1 laptop ... 4 of these machines came with windows vista.. Virus scan and I could rename and move folders again. Any ideas?I have the same problem.
