Barbara from Chicago. If anybody has anything to suggest, I'm all ears. I have spoken with the tech support people at Bluehost, but they couldn't help, either. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. check over here
If it was because the server they were sending from is on a blacklist, they would want to request a delisting from a blacklist. Reply Web says: December 29, 2008 at 7:16 pm I had this problem in NJ and I changed the port, its weird just out of no where it didnt work. It feels good to finally have my Mail app back. Long story - short, after 2 phone calls, and a representative who finally understood my question - I changed settings of port server on the Mac account from 25 to 587. In Internet Email Settings – Change the outgoing email (SMTP) to smtp.comcast.net 2. Just elect the check box DONE.
Incoming port is 995 with SSL; I have no trouble with incoming e-mail. 0 Kudos Posted by kevj 03-11-2013 04:36 PM Networking Expert View All Member Since: 10-03-2003 Posts: 5,374 Message I've spent about 4 hours on the phone to Apple Support and the same amount of time on the phone to support where my email is hosted and I'm getting nowhere. Thank you for having this discussion! Typically this is in the form of an SMTP server connection error, a mailbox that's seemingly stuck offline, a repeated request for a password from Mail app (a fairly common issue Reply Onsberg says: November 5, 2014 at 5:38 pm After multiple deletion and setup of Verizon.net accounts, they smtp will stop working. Editing the Account.plist worked fine to reestablish connection to my company smtp server.
Is the email you are sending in simple text, no attachments, and in English? dig this No Comcast here - Verizon for now. Reply Bob says: December 6, 2014 at 5:02 pm Neither method worked. Does this sound right to you?
I'm on the road a lot and someone told me when staying in hotels you had better luck with this port. http://sauvblog.com/cannot-send/cannot-send-message-using-the-server-smtp-gmail-com-apple-mail.html The problem has been escalated t the engineering team. As you do not seem to be one of our customers, we are unable to check into the server, so we need you to tell us the details as we are No issues on their end.
I'm sure they would prefer you host your entire website with them, but that's probably the last thing you want to do. I then click ‘Try with selected server' again a couple of times and finally, after a few more of these popups, it sends the message. Comcast bastards! http://sauvblog.com/cannot-send/cannot-send-message-using-the-server-smtp-comcast-net.html In May, I received the same "Action must be taken-your computer is sending spam" email from Comcast that another commenter mentioned above.
When I tried this, it not only used 587 for outgoing, it changed my incoming to 997, required an encrypted connection (SSL), required logon using secure password authentication, and used TLS We could then email any other domain, just not comcast, which was a BiG problem as some of our clients have comcast email addresses. You've got me over the problem.
Then I moved-and much to my surprise, I was able to send 3 emails-I thought the move fixed it, but 2 hours later, it no longer worked. Pim Verhoeff says: December 11, 2014 at 7:03 am Thank you so much!!! 1st option worked perfectly. So I eliminated the Yahoo account on Mail - I had to go through internet accounts to do this. Or is it the other way around like when you're using for instance mozilla thunderbird you have to adjust a few things in the outgoing server (SMTP) authentication & then type I am up and running again. Thanks again! Most of the time you cannot send messages from one account provider using another account provider's service.
I have a couple so determined the OE worked on other PCs. I have saved the mail log at the time the connection error message occured through Apple Mail's Connection Assistent. My son (i.e. Your #2 work around fixed the issue….
