The FQDN of the computer would be something like this;computername.abc-domain.abc.localIf abc-domain is the domain under abc.local 0Votes Share Flag Collapse - i believe you need an lmhosts entry for it since WINS is the Microsoft pre-cursor to DNS - it resolves netbios names to IP addresses (whereas DNS resolves fully qualified DNS names to IP addresses). Any failure to PING needs to be corrected before you go any farther. A "best practice" would be to connect to hosts via their FQDN.
