The problem is not limited to pdf files -- I tried the same process but attaching a WordPerfect (.wpd) file and got the exact same results and error messages - the Go to menu Tools->MIME Edit...4. Since doing that I can no longer open PDF attachments to received emails. If it does not have the correct action = 'Foxit Reader', select it from the drop down options or click on 'Use Other' to open a small window with further options. Got any clues? I went in and changed the attachment options to use my own Adobe reader instead of the (in Thunderbird) option.
So it is not a .pdf issue. If it is still not in list, click on 'browse' and locate the foxit reader .exe file.
