How to migrate to a new iRedMail server More documents: http://www.iredmail.org/docs/. I just started my first real job, and have been asked to organize the office party. After it reaches a specified size, I want the old one to be zipped up, and a new one created with the current date and time. The email campaign mailer program resides on the same server as the iRedMail server. What seems to be happening is logrotate makes a new /var/log/messages file and changes the permissions on the file. You can change that. How can you make that log file writable before it even exists?
After chmod i implement chown to folder with root:root and no further problems were found, so SQUID is now working and configured successfully. Or given your user the permissions to do so?I've tried to start the daemon as root but yet the output is the sameCouldn't open file for 'Log debug file /var/log/tor/debug.log': Permission William Pechter 2015-09-14 15:49:16 UTC PermalinkRaw Message _______________________________________________Xymon mailing listhttp://lists.xymon.com/mailman/listinfo/xymonYou may need to use the group of the apache web server user instead ofxymon. Unfortunately, my temporary solution is to hard-code a filename e.g.
The campaign mailer program is functioning fine and sends out all emails. You run tor using systemd, correct? Or are people manually creating the log file first and then changing its permissions? http://lists.xymon.com/archive/2015-September/042259.html Browse other questions tagged postgresql configuration logs or ask your own question.
On your hobbit server, you have to add : > > --extra-script=/Soft/HOBBIT-4.1.2p1/server/ext/extragrph.sh > --extra-tests=sar > > into hobbitlaunch.cfg at [rrdstatus] and [rrddata] sections. > > Here is my server-side script called I was thinking I could add xymon user tosplunk group and that would allow xymon to read /var/log/messages aswell, but it doesn't seem to be working. Why is looping over find's output bad practice? E-mails are susceptible to alteration.

Hencechown tor:tor /var/log/torNow launching the daemon works, and the /var/log/tor/debug.log is correctly written.Adding [SOLVED] to the main post title. Thanks to everyone, Last edited by giuscri (2014-05-20 12:20:40) Offline #9 2014-05-20 12:20:05
Edit /etc/logrotate.d/syslog and add/edit the following line create 640 root "name of group" Then hobbit/bb should be able to read the file. Do humans have an obligation to prevent animal on animal violence? systemd starts the service as the tor user (see /usr/lib/systemd/system/tor.service). affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) → squid (Ubuntu) Evgeniy (edgecrus) wrote on 2009-08-30: #3 issue was resolved with chmod 777 for /var/log folder and after that debug mode was started and service started http://sauvblog.com/cannot-open/cannot-open-for-write-permission-denied.html Make a new goup and add the hobbit/bb user to the grp. 2.
